Velveteen Stamping

I was really pleased with the effect of Velveteen Stamping but it took me several tries to find the right background and then stamps. Thanks to Shari Carroll for sharing this with us on the Hero Arts Blog.

Not sure that I could get a photo that shows the effect as well as seeing it up close and in the right kind of light. The stamping seemed to do better with certain stamps and inks.

Thank you for stopping by and looking!
Background HA CG405 (Leaf and Floral Background) stamped in ColorBox White.
Flower stamps: HA CL508 (Luscious Patterned Flowers) and Sizzix/Hero Arts 657851
Sentiment: HA CL283
The ColorBox White shows through much better in the yellow stamp if you look closely.
Inks for flowers: Jenni Bowlin #14 (Speckled Egg) and #4 (Lemon Drops)

My second attempt:

Background HA CG405 (Zig Background) stamped in ColorBox White.
Flower stamps: HA CG303 (Luscious Bold Flowers)
Sentiment: HA CL283
The ColorBox White shows through much better in the green stamp on this card if you look closely.
Inks for flowers: Memento Bamboo Leaves for the green flower and Jenni Bowlin #4 Lemon Drops for the yellow flower.

Thought for the day:
"For I am Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and say, Do not fear; I will take care of you."
Isaiah 41:13

  1. wow you've been on a roll with your cards. Both look gorgeous although the one with the zigzag background is more obvious. Yet to try this technique. Hopefully soon :)
