Banner Card

I used my Hero Arts Banner/Pendant die from Archiver's to create this card. Love this new hexagon stamp from Hero Arts too!

It was a little tedious for me. I cut the banner die 3 times on a cream piece of card stock. Then I black embossed over the cream paper. I rubbed my X-Static embossing pad over the black card stock and then place the negative die cut panel over it to determine where to put the sentiments. I then white embossed these sentiments, attached the hexagon negative die over the black and added a little bling! VOILA :)

Happy Thoughts

I used two new dies for these cards. The banner die is Banner/Pendant from Hero Arts Stamp & Cut (Exclusive for Archiver's) and the flower die is Fresh Daisies from Simon Says Stamp!

The embossed background for the first card is a Sizzix and the embossed background for the second card is the Paper Studio. Sentiment is Hero Arts CL150 Heartfelt Thanks Messages.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

Clean And Simple

Whooh! One layer cards are hard! I am really enjoying an online class Clean and Simple Card Making2. Today's class gave us pointers on one layer cards.
I am also using a new Hero Arts stamp so will be sharing this for their January 2013 Monthly Contest.

So here is my one layer card:

My new stamp from Hero Arts is CL672-So Kind 4x6
The sentiment is Hero Arts CL511 Sweet Threads
I used Enamel accents for the dots in the corner and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and is actually there to cover up a mistake. I had stamped this design three times before I got it right so the little boo boo just had to be covered. I love butterflies anyway so it made me happy :)
Memento Inks: Bamboo Leaves and Angel Pink

Blessings to you!

Clean And Simple Cardmaking 2

After watching the videos today on our Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2, this is what I came up with. Such inspiration there and so many tips for cardmaking. Looking forward to all the sessions!

This was also a new stamp for me that I won from the blog hop for the new Hero Arts stamp from Jennifer Bierderman's blog. What was so neat about this stamp is that I am a retired educator where I taught Business and Computer Science classes and back in the day our primary course was keyboarding!

New Goodies

Hero Arts new 2013 products are available and I SPLURGED! Most of my order came in today and I couldn't wait to ink this one up. I am going to have such fun!

Here is today's creation:
I white embossed the Leafy Vine (HA CG509) on kraft and then used my Prismacolor pencils to color over it. Sentiment is HA CL140. Butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

Another fun card I completed but used an old Stampendous Birthday stamp:
The background paper is from the Paper Studio Old World Winter. I used corrugated paper from scrap boxes - a really fun technique I learned somewhere online from another cardmaking site (sorry I can't remember where). The candles are stamped with STAZ ON Black ink on canvas and then colored with copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to share some of my other new stamps! Happy Stamping :)

Blessings to you!

Encouragement

A friend of ours recently lost her dad. He had a huge influence and impact on our small community. He was raised here and was of the generation like my dad of high morals - right is right and wrong is wrong - and he lived his life that way. I know you know people like that too. It makes me so sad to see how much things have changed. I know every generation says that but when I look at how much things have changed in the last six years it makes my heart hurt - not just for me but for my grandchildren. Enough of that - thank you for taking the time to stop by.

This card is for their family.

I white embossed the Hero Arts Background stamp on pink. Sentiment is HA also.

Blessings to you!

“ . . . Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; . . .”

Splash of Color

Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week is Black/White + Splash Of Color. Check it out. Lots of great inspiration from the design team using C.C. Designs products. I was on a real roll with a layout I am using for some Valentine cards so I decided to use their color challenge for one of my cards.

Used some printed paper for the background and my Martha Stewart Lattice punch. (I am loving this punch right now!) The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch also.
Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Blessings to you today. Thank you for stopping by.

Another Newbie

I am so glad that I am able to get back to making cards. I am a retired teacher but during the months of October - December I was asked to return to do a maternity leave for one of the ladies in the department where I taught. WOW! What an adjustment for me. So, now I am "retired" again :-)

Okay - back to what I do: Here is another newbie stamp for me

The new stamp is this darling butterfly from Hero Arts D5743 - I love butterflies anyway so it was a given when I saw it in the new lineup I had to have it.
Flourish: Hero Arts K5280
Martha Stewart Lattice Punch
Glossy Accents on Butterflies
Stamped with Color Box Pink

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!

Blessings to you.

Catching Up!

I have been away from blogging here for a while but so glad to be back into my cardmaking again. Thank you for stopping by. I have several cards to share but will do so over a couple of days. Hero Arts challenge this month is "Try something new & a color challenge".

Here is what I came up with:

Slight variation on each - one with the white seam binding, other with white seam binding colored with copic marker; leaves on one have glossy accents other does not. One set of stems were stamped with Memento: Pear Tart (light green) and the other Memento: Bamboo Leaves (darker green).

The "new" part of the card is the Zig Zag background stamped in Color Box White. This zigzag stamp is with a set "Zig Zag Thanks". The stem of the flower is a really old Hero Arts stamp: Hearts on Stem.
