Birthday TriFold

Well I think this is going to be my last fold card. It has been fun and surely something different for me.


All of my stamps are actually from one stamp set.

The pin dot paper is Recollections and the Mosaic Bling on the balloon and sentiment are from Michael's.
Used a Paper Studio circle punch for the balloons and wrapped Doodle Twine on the top of the circle.

Friends Always

Trying my hand at another Fold Card. This time it is a Tri-Fold or at least that is what I call it. Entering this in the Hero Arts February Challenge.



The size of the card is 12"x 5.5" folding at 4" intervals. I used a tag template that I found online to make sure I got the angle right on the corners.

I had forgotten how much double-sided 12x12 paper I had. Sure came in handy with this one.

Hearts and Lace

As the month of February Challenge is winding down at Hero Arts, I am still making Valentine cards - which really feels strange right now.  But using hearts and lace and the right sentiment doesn't always means that it is a Valentine's card - right?

I had some scrap papers and hearts leftover and I didn't want them to go to waste so here it is:

February Sketch Challenge

It's not very often that I enter anything in the Hero Arts Sketch Challenge because I seem to have a difficult time trying to come up with something. Well here it is AND it did take me a while to come up with something. I am pretty pleased with the results.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

The background is a combination of two Hero Arts background stamps: S5654 Tweed Pattern and CG517 Hexagon Background.
I used Hero Arts NEON BLUE for the Tweed Pattern and Hero Arts NEON PURPLE for the Hexagon Background.

I didn't have a hexagon stamp or die large enough so I downloaded a 1 1/2" pattern and cut it out and colored it with the NEON BLUE ink and then let it dry and white embossed the tweed pattern on it. To make the two smaller circles match in color I used the NEON PURPLE and NEON BLUE inked on white card stock.

Same thing with the purple butterfly (inked with NEON PURPLE) - then I used a Martha Stewart punch. Added bling for the trail.

The banner is Hero Arts Stamp & Cut DI074 - layered white on blue.

Sentiment is Hero Arts CL400.

Another Fold Card



This appears to be a gate fold card but if you look at the picture below you will see that the right panel opens towards the top of the card. I have three green checked butterflies under that panel but it was way too awkward to get a picture of them too - oh well :)

Both sentiments are from Hero Arts. 
Papers are Martha Stewart double-sided "playful pink paper pad". I have had these for a while and believe I got it at WalMart :)

We are having more rain in Georgia and for us it is a blessing but for others in the state they have already had an abundance and are soaked.

Joy-Fold

Chalkboard Technique

Finally had time to try this Chalkboard Technique using Joy Taylor's instructions on the Hero Arts Blog. I taught school for 30 years and was very familiar with chalk being everywhere. It was a nice change when we went to "grease" boards :)

This is probably my favorite one yet. Inside says "Kick Up Your Heels & Have Fun!"

Fold Card

I have not done a "Fold Card" in forever. Just really stretching myself this weekend :)

Hero Arts February Challenge is Love and Lace, Fun Folds, and/or a Sketch Challenge. I got my inspiration for the fold from a Card Making book that I have had forever: Fabulous Folds for Card Making published by HOUSE OF WHITE BIRCHES.

It was really pretty simple to do once I decided on all the papers :)

Pop-Up Card

It has been about 3 years since I have done a pop-up card and I felt like it took me 3 years to complete this one :) Once I refreshed my memory from one of my craft books on how to do it, the process went rather smoothly. The next one will be easier - right? :)

Hero Arts Challenge for February is Love and Lace, Fold Cards, and a Sketch Challenge. I have been working on my valentine cards and thought I would incorporate a pop-up card. Sun was a little bright so photo looks a little washed out. Here it is:

One Layer Card

Oh me, Oh my! I am doing some more practice on my "homework" from Clean and Simple Card Making 2. One of our assignments was to create a one layer card. My first one I fudged a little and put a little butterfly but on this one I stuck with the plan and it is truly ONE layer.

You do not know how bad I wanted to add a sweet little heart bling to this :) I had to let one hand hold the other hand to keep it from jumping on the card!

This is a lot of masking.
